Escapism Through Writing

Many of us seem to cater towards some form of escape. Alcohol is incredibly common; as are video games, books, casinos, drugs, and music!

Can writing be a form of escape? Most definitely. I know I do it. There is a way to let go of the mind and just drift into smooth transient writing. This free-form writing seems to soothe the soul and rewaken the body’s tiring cells.

I remember watching a movie, ‘Finding Forrester‘, and Sean Connery gives a great quote. He tells the boy to “write from the heart”, then later go back with the mind and fix your wording to ensure a consistent smooth flow.

It seems to work fairly well, not only for writing but for other things as well.
